A. Batteries work better at this time, caps are rare and expensive devices that are very good at doing things not needed for storage systems typically.

This vid is from 2 years ago. You have a link on your site as of 6/12/22 from these 8 cell 12v units that leads to a completely different product. The linked product is worn out, not low cycle as your description indicates. What gives?
cool
That lamp seems really bad at producing light.
Using those batteries for that lamp seems a waste of good batteries.
But as you did anyway, I would have just put the batteries in without a BMS just added a balance lead and charge it from a hobby charger like the Imax that way you save a whole bunch of space and could even add some extra battery power.
Also as there would be no BMS the batteries wouldn't drain out.
A simple plug on the side with a balance socket so when you connect up the Imax or similar you plug in the balance cable and charge it with or without balancing.
I have done 3 conversions on drills and other equipment that used terrible batteries originally but now my drills and other stuff are always ready to be used, instead of having to wait two or three hours to charge them before use ie drill a single hole.
I did the same with a 67 volt Eunicycle, stripped out the BMS inserted 4 balance plugs and now when I charge I check the balance of each section with the balance leads and where needed balance each section, then do a top up charge without the balance to even out the cells at the top end.
I check the balance of the cells every two or three charges simple and cheap, a BMS for a 67 volt is quite expensive so found this a much cheaper and more informative way of dealing with the balancing issue.
Also I could use those hobby beepers that warn of cells being low, I actually just use one of those to check the charge of each cell.
I have the Big Beam model 666. It uses a 6v battery on a 4v sealed beam light. Been thinking about building an 18650 pack for it.
You have a potential short circuit from the battery terminal to chassis
now upgrade to leds
C'mon man I'm following you since the start. We all have 18650 from dead laptop batteries and make that pcb international and with no problems. We all want cheap easy powerwall.
Doesn't the usb receive 12 volt the way he wired it?
wow, I got 2, came back to get more and gone…
I hate that I missed these batteries, because I could really use 1 to 3 of them.
I was sure you would replace the lamps with 12v LED bulbs. Would be brighter and much more energy efficient. By the way great video.
Hi Jehu, I've been enjoying both your battery and EV content for a while now. I was hoping to use these 12V modules for a solar application, where I was gonna use 12v SLAs to power remote surveillance cameras. Yours are sold out of course…but would these have been a good fit? Load is only about 1 A. I'd be charging with a Renogy low-end solar controller and a small solar panel. Sunny days it would charge all day…but I want the camera to run reliably 24×7, even if it's rainy for a week. Could you suggest something that i could build up for this kind of use case? Thanks – Michael in TX
Would love to see you do a video about making batteries for some of the different tool companies, like roybi, makita, dewalt. Make batteries that have more amp hour capacity.
Hello, good evening, I wanted to ask you a question. I saw that you made a video about the Doctor Cell charger. I wanted to know what you think about that charger and the software it uses. Do you think it is a good investment to buy it?
Buen proyectito brother.
Well as always. If you want it ya better be buying it NOW. SOLD OUT. Wishing I doubled my order.
Neat idea!
Unrelated question: Can you make the Tesla Wall Charger be mobile by hooking it up to a big enough inverter connected to a big enough battery?
