Okay, today we're gonna test the aluminum bus bars for this battery. The slim one. This one. It's just like the long one and the fat one in that it's 148 amp hours and it could push a potential of 1200 amps for 10 seconds and could do about 800 amps.

Uh, continuous, right? So I think today we're going to run around 800 amps and then we're gonna check the temperature of these I Want these to stay fairly cool or at least at the same temperature as the wires? I'm running two two odd cables and then two four gauge cables or or two gauge cables. No, two gauge cables. So this is a lot of cables, right? This is crazy amount of copper that is, uh, leaving the battery here. So I My aim is to at least have these remain at the same around the same temperature as those wires because, well, the wires can't even handle the heat at 800 amps.

then. Uh, these are not going to be the same thing. So let's see how it goes. 800 amps.

Let's load it up. recording 94 amps. Okay, here we go: 830 23 . Okay, here's the terminal camera.

Everything's still cool. Uh, about probably what? Half a minute in the hottest thing is that little meter there? That one's starting to heat up the same over here. voltage still remaining above 12. 12.26 85, 90.

yeah, that's that's that terminal. There is, uh, seems to be warming up. There's a lot of power coming out of the two the Dual two gauge cables. Those are at 90 already.

So the cables are getting hotter than the Uh on the terminals. 769 Amps: We're at least nearing uh, what? Two and a half minutes or so remaining at 12 above 12 volts, 12.228 Okay, that I Want to reach a hundred? Finally 104 . thank you 106 This is the one that's getting the hottest. 111 remaining above 12, 12, 25, 113 .

those are remaining cooler About five degrees cooler than this one's okay. 118 F But now we're about six minutes into this test. or nearing six minutes voltage holding at 12.21 volts temperature. Yeah, it's climbing slowly.

120 What are the cables? 118? Yeah, so it's the same as the cable 122 over there. So definitely those cables. Those connectors over there 130 140. that connector over there? Look at that.

That's a two odd cable over there. It's hotter on our bus bars here, about 10 degrees hotter. The cells are remaining very cool at 90. Uh, 100.

So yeah, they're just the rising. But look, it's it's hotter on the top. So I Think it's the terminals are making them hot. It's not the actual cells that are producing all that heat.

The center of the cell is still at 92 degrees. These cells are pretty amazing. 127 128 Nearing All right, nearing eight minutes continuous. Uh, 780 Amps: 130 134.

What about the other one over here? Let's see what's about to say. A little bit cooler. Maybe the screws are tighter on that one or something or this is the worst one right here. 136 Where are we at? 9 47.

So I guess we're gonna see where we're at after 10 minutes. Oh okay, so battery just went down below 12 is at 11 92. 800. So the voltage is going down 11.8 Okay, so the for the cells are below three volts now.
Okay, hopefully I think we're somewhere around 10 minutes. We're gonna quit the test right now. and we got to 141. Uh, after 10 minutes.

Oh, it's climbing the amperages, climbing the voltages. Okay, so we just took an inverter off 10 51. as soon as this hits 144.. All right here we go.

There we go. The final number was 146. right? But we were above 800 amps there and this is after 10 minutes. Uh, the voltage now is bouncing back.

All the cells are above three volts. Um, there's a deviation of 15 millivolts at this point, which is almost nothing. So the cells have bounced back to 12.47 So 12 and a half volts. But the cells? I think 10 minutes of 800 amps? That's uh I think most of the energy of the cells are gone I think we remove about 100 amp hours.

Uh uh. Meanwhile, the cells remain pretty cool. about a hundred degrees. Um, and the cables are the ones at the terminals.

here. Bus parts are what's making these cells hot. All right. Successful test.

Say brotha, how much is that bank? Cost?

How safe are these if your driving for 4 hours with 320 amp alternator? Does the digital battgo balancer tells it when stop taking a charge? Sorry for the newbie questions

Could you do another slim PCB that is only 4 cells and also 12v. These would be great to replace our 2002 RAV4 EV batteries.

What's the dimensions of this battery please? They're blank on the link. I want 2 for my 2 full bridge 8K amps. Thanks

You need to measure the brightest spots, around the terminals, and not exceed the battery operating temps. Or you will do this once or twice. The cables are heating the batteries since the middle batteries are cooler.

    No compression on these cells

Seems like these would be perfect for golf carts. Would four in series work for 48 volt @ 800A? Should be able to climb a pretty steep hill. Is a BMS needed?

How many people would use this in a car… 100 maybe?

Wat type of charger would I need to buy to charge these to full capacity?

you make this stuff look so easy. would makker those bar slightly thicker help?

Must be higher resistance in those cable junctions and anderson connecters.

Nice video as always. Those AL busbars in middle are holding well not a problem at all. but on those terminals they don't looks so well i think they should be changed to handle current better

now your talking I need at least 3 possibly 4 how much trouble would that be

I got two of the smaller banks on a taramps md12k @ 0.5 ohms
They stay above 12 volts with the truck off full tilt 😂 they are very good audio cells

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve Lacroix says:

Have you ever thought about some cooling around the batteries. I'm thinking something like a peltier unit stuck to the side, with a fan blowing the hot air away??

Kinda looks like we're moving on from powerwalls to audio drivers???

I would like to buy just the PCB
