I understand but nobody about to buy that just to get the rack . I clicked because I thought you were making a wooden battery box from scratch. A bit disappointed

My two sets showed up today and that was the first thing that came to mind. Great I have my rack but I need castors. I have to say that I am impressed with the quality of the box and the cleanliness of the batteries. They all look new and come in at over 57v. Will load test in the next day or two as soon as I charge them up

For a powerwall I prefer a metal enclosure such as a power box. Don't know if this is the right word for it, this is my third language.
It's an about 3-4 foot square grey-white painted metal electricity box commonly found on walls. It normally has fuses and power switches in it and distributes the incoming power to different consumers. The front panel of the box is a one or two piece door.
Such box looks nice and mounting racks on the rails inside is easy.

I really like all of your battery videos. I am very interested in making some batteries. I am trying to calculate how long my devices will run on battery power so I can build a large enough battery. For example in order to backup networking gear in my house. Do you have any suggestions on where I can get that information?

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dr. Smart says:

i wonder if you can review 14500 liion cells because theres like no known good source of them with good capacity

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stefan Fracek says:

I would fit the castor right up to the outer edge of the case so it takes the load better.

I've got 4 of these on the way. What about wiring the 4 sets of 16s cells in parallel and then using Batrium BMS with M8 Longmons and a shunt trip to balance and control the output of these batteries? If you use a heavy gauge cable for the parallel connections, you could just run positive and negative from one of the batteries to shunt trip and then on to the inverter. Does that sound like it would work?
