A. Batteries work better at this time, caps are rare and expensive devices that are very good at doing things not needed for storage systems typically.

As always great video Jehu. Jus one comment:

For high power applications 48v system will do better job in terms of thermal lose. 24v system takes lot of power by heating cables and PCB parts

It would be very interesting to make an AC inverter with at least 2kw that works at the voltage of the Tesla battery bank, (such as the high-power UPS) to be installed as an optional, perhaps equipped with undervoltage protection to protect the battery bank and simplify installation simply deriving from the line of exit of the bench, in emergency could feed a house quietly or use it to perform jobs with power tools out of the network.

what do you think about it?

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bio Greenz says:

That will get a scooter 20 to 28 miles on 350wh

    Omg those cells are beautiful!!!

Hoo, those cables at 73c are at 164F, a mite warm. Time to thicken up the traces on your power strip, too, Jehu. Those baby Teslas suck the juice.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars StrategyYouDidntKnow says:

do you need an inverter at all? Tesla has 480v DC supercharger stations according to wikipedia. I asked a representative from tesla and they told me pretty much the same thing. i think it's an adapter if you have model 3 and on board if it's s or x, if i'm not mistaken.

Where is the power strip build?

I’ve been trying to do this for a while… glad to see how it can be done. It may not be the most efficient way, but it works.

Many people ask why someone would do this… well how else can you grab solar energy that’s been fed to a battery for storage and then use it to charge your Tesla?

I know Tesla is a whole new class of car, but my little smart ev says the mi per kwh on the car display. It runs 3.6 to 4.3 and longer-term average of 4.0 mi/kwh … So you get about 3/kwh or did I miss understand? If so, that is pretty good for a much bigger car! 👍
