7) What is the best fuse wire? I only use 1/8w resistor legs http://j35.us/ResistorLegs
8) Why not use Supercapacitors?
A. Batteries work better at this time, caps are rare and expensive devices that are very good at doing things not needed for storage systems typically.

Hello jehugarcia! What thermal camera do you use?

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Jensen says:

Honestly, if you're worried about voltage droop at different parts of the board you can just throw a couple of decoupling capacitors on there (one 47pf~100pf near each connector — connect one side to +, and the other to -) and that issue should go away. The caps act like really fast (but also really small) batteries, and would even out the voltage near each location.

Thank Jehu , thank all the comments back and for, It give so much interesting information . Let do try and learn .

Greetings, you know if that DC Voltimetro below is discontinued. I've searched everywhere and I can not find it and the link thatย Jehu added here sends to another product.

Maybe I don't fully understand what are you trying to do here, but to encourage people to draw 18 amps from ONE 18650 cell seems kinda dangerous. Not many 18650 are designed do deliver more than 2C (~5amps) so pushing them to 18 amps is a fire hazard…

Hi, Have you set your battery monitor up and checked its calibration, before going and changing your PCB?
Did you specify thicker than normal copper on the PCB?

FYI: technically, and actually, a fuse rated for 10 amps means it can handle up to that amperage (10 amps) and will blow beyond that value. So your fuses are technically rated for 8 or 9 amps and are blowing at 10 amps. Just a technically. I know at the end of the day what matters is that you/we know it will blow at 10 amps. Peace.

What kind and model of thermal camera are you using in this video?? I would also like to visualize the thermal cycling in my own battery packs…

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars TheViewFromUpHere says:

Looks like the traces to each battery on the bottom side could be 2 – 3x wider and the round pads for soldering each battery holder pin or wire should also be as wide as possible with a maximum width connection to any trace. Power PCB traces are different than signal traces.
