7. My first Bug was a '64. The engine soon died, so in '69, there was a shop in L.A. that would rebuild it for $118. That motor was great till I traded it in for a new car in '71. Then in '88, I bought a '67 with a stock 1600 dual port. That Bug never let me down and had plenty of power to pull hills. I paid $1500 and it was a show Bug. The builder, who owned a VW Shop, build it for his daughter, but she didn't want it. After 10 years, it was stolen.

9. You guys represent the spirit of what v'dub'in is (and at least used to be) all about. I am a Cali native now living on the east coast and have had many epic trips in my old buses. I was lucky enough to purchase a 66 split recently and hope to have it running (not fully restored) someday in the not too distant future. With all the money and attention VW's are receiving in the resto scene it's nice to see "regular" people like us still driving them cause it's in our blood; not to make a profit. Keep on keeping on and I'll keep on watching. ZenSurfer55
