One of the reasons that creative people never make much more money than just break even is. We chase so many squirrels. There are so many cool things to look into and learn about we dont focus on any one thing long enough to move it to the next level. We get bored. Businesses and reputations take time to build.
I was one of the fortunate who made a bundle in figuring out Google's algorithm in the early days when I set up an online jewelry company and had top positions for terms like 'engagement rings'. I'm starting a new energy company (my sons the main channel 🙂 and now feel that this is the right timing to exploit content and the age of open source. Strangely though there is more money in free+ than paid models today. The key is as it always was with google> Depth! Their point system within the algorithm is what counts towards features so go heavy on links and integral associations. (Partnering with other youtubers that is). I've just started running the numbers and testing a few different channel approaches but I'll keep you posted. Really looking forward to your new content. One last thing: Watch the time; even though they may say they want longer content (depth) they have a limit. 30 minutes to an hour is good I think. Even movies get boring after 1 and a half hours.
