  1. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars mac berry says:

People laugh at renewable energy but when disaster comes you can quickly go from fully modern country to third world country where you have to find electricity to charge your phone

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Lesco Brandon says:

What fuels do the global climate change enthusiasts intend to use for airplane fuels? It sounds like they want us to not fly.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars inferno says:

    Can we? yes
    Will we? yes
Will we before we run out of fossil fuels? no chance.

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wind says:

We could also just build a more nuclear plants which would make even less waste than the solar panels and power way more than fossil fuels. The Palo Verde nuclear power plant can supply enough power for about 3,937,000 homes by itself . The only reason we have energy problems is the ban on building new nuclear power plants from the 70's . If it weren't for that power would be super cheap everywhere with more than enough to power the electric cars we will eventually be forced to use .

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Marcos Noble says:

Evangelizing is the right word. "renewables" are being pushed and legislated because they feel clean, but the numbers are not good.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hakan T. says:

Why not just put the cabels underground ? Problem solved

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars perseverance8 says:

Sure, however we need an energy dense on demand replacement, having an electrical engineering background, the only practical source would be a type of fission nuclear reactor called Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor, they have been built and I know of one publicly known reactor of this type being built in northern Europe. I tend to tell people that after you've built your own solar & wind turbine sources & worked through their nuances you'll realize why petroleum will be very difficult to supplant.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Huh? what?? uhhhhh......aaaaaaaaaaarghhhh!?!?!? says:

    Nope….Exxon MOBILE wont allow it

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars all the boost says:

Unfortunately this is the cost of living in Paradise…. Puerto Rico is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jeff Cameron says:

Hey Jehugarcia, what do you think of Aquion Energy Salt Water Batteries for solar storage?

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chris Pfeiffer says:

decentralization is the key. take responsibility for your power, make it work for you. if everyone used solar panels just to even supplement traditional, we would be much better off.

Flying around for not much beneficial results also doesnt bring it down. People need to stop that to a minimum as well. Also minimize the lighting madness, that some countries have. Here in Europe you hardly see any city being as rediculous as a Shanghai, HonKong, NewYork or LasVegas.
I am all on your side, but essentially the US (and more and more countries due to globalization and this stupid education, that business mainly is successful in meeting each others around the world personally) is way too much on senseless business endeavors/trips, that (with the right mindsets on both parties) could be smushed into just calling each others on the phone or chat, or VR environments or whatever.
We are way too mobile…or at least overextending it over what actually is needed. We dont need to drive 500 meters to walmart…everyone in his very own car. We dont need such big vehicles for just our stupid daily stuff….that is all dumb.
It is like recycling trash. There needs to be a mindset towards it. For that, we need to adjust a bit, but noone in our civilized countries would suddenly do it, because of convinience.
We all need to be honest: Do we need such big vehicles? Do we need 600bhp in an EV? Do we need to fly to Tokyo for just 2 hours of conference/business? Do we need the car for all those nearby activities (in China, mostly due to traffic jams and dense cities, most people walk their 4-5 kilometers a day to do their shopping etc.)?
So many things, where we can just do the most simple thing in the world to stopp global warming: Work on our behaviour instead only focussing on tech, that preserves all that convinience. It is easy: Educate yourself, then your children and we all work on a less wasteful society….with that mindset alone, you already reduce emissions and hazards by 50% minimum! ๐Ÿ™‚ Easier than anything else!
Most of talk about emissions, while still doing shit all day long + flying around to make videos or whatever….sooo much opportunity, but as we (especially western societies) claim to be developed societies, we are practically speaking just a huge bunch of selfish egoists next to each other being in the same country! Being social most of your time is a myth…humans are mostly selfish at first priority ๐Ÿ™‚
