A. Batteries work better at this time, caps are rare and expensive devices that are very good at doing things not needed for storage systems typically.

I've got a problem with this. I've watched a couple of your videos, and from what I can gather, you have a 7S or a 14S configuration per module. Cell-X on each board, is then paralleled across the daisy chain, and connected to the BMS for the individual battery monitor. Now, the BMS will correctly shut down Cell-X in an over or under voltage situation – that is fine. How on EARTH would you determine on which one of the modules, the faulty Cell is, and how would you stop the BMS from shutting down Cell-X on all the modules?? If you have 10 modules, and the BMS reports under/over voltage on Cell 1, you effectively have to test Cell 1 on each and every module until you find it, and Cell 1 would be switched off across each module? Correct?

I'm also not sure I understand the need for multiple BMS units in the same daisy chain? Should one of the BMS units go faulty, would it not cause problems across the entire battery?

What I would like to see is a design where you can add and replace battery packs easily! I would like to see a system you could have professionally installed initially but with a small pack and then later the owner could add packs easily when they can afford more. This would be a bit like changing one of these e-bike battery packs but a lot easier to remove and replace. You could even make the packs so you could replace the individual cells easily and then replace the pack back into the Powerwall as new or used 18650/21700 cells come onto the market. The system would need to be intelligent enough that it can tell you which cells you need to replace and balanced and for the BMS to recognise the new pack, but I'm sure this could be done don't you think?
