Can you diy fix the polarity, reverse problem plaguing the ac200 max? Well today, i'm gon na try and show you what it takes to take it apart and what it takes to fix. Reverse the polarity on this thing. Let's get going first, you remove all the little caps out of here. Next you remove these bolts right here.

There we go, there are two phillips screw screws. Next, you start praying the plastic out, and this is uh a little bit hard to do. You'll have to use something to pry it out and be careful not to mess it up. There's one phillips head screw in the back and then this whole thing pops out see how it's popping up the top portion uh and these cables will go connected over there.

So you'll just have to remove them all right and there we go now. You have access to the problematic port right, so you could take this and lift this whole thing up, but you'll have to disconnect the screen ribbon. So this screen is connected by that ribbon. That goes there, so you just probably just pull it out like that, and now you have access.

What i would do is probably just place it like. So so you can work on it. Okay, fixing the plug, is as easy as changing this cable to that and this cable to that now. This might not be long enough, but let's try it all right, and i just did it.

I just flipped the red on this side and then the black on that side. Now the red one, it's a little bit tight right, it's not ideal and then the black one just has a little bit more slack, but not too much slack. Let's uh see how that goes, that's well tighten in there should be fine, let's put this back together, uh and then we can power it up, and then we can do the same test that we did and then i think that's it. That's how easy it is to fix the ac200 max okay.

So now we repeat the test uh, the small one and the cl this one, which is the closest one to those switches, should be the same one. Now there we go and the ones farthest apart should also be connected. There you go so this is an easy fix. All right, i just uh put the top in here.

None of the screws are on, but i wanted to turn it on to see that everything works because you never know. Sometimes you might uh pinch a wire or something, but there we go. The touch screen. Let's see there we go ac is on dc is on okay, everything works all right, so there we go seven screws, four allen and three uh phillips.

That's all it takes right, but blue eddie. Please look! You got to get rid of this stuff, this stuff! Half of the people that might feel inclined to do this repair right themselves are probably gon na break this, because this is this is not easy. It like you, you got ta pry it out the very easily. This breaks right so fi try to find a design that doesn't have this clip-on stuff that breaks easy right.

So if, in the future, serviceability is a thing right and i think most more of us need to be able to diy and do some stuff, some quick repairs like this right uh, maybe for stuff that is out of warranty or for like in this case a Recall this is a perfect example to show why uh, maybe your competitors right are going to maybe do better in the long run right. So just here's a change, this less clip on stuff, more uh with less specialized tools right. Some people might find you know hard to find an allen key right, even though that's kind of standard uh by the way, which is the allen key, that you will need uh a five thirty seconds. Five thirty seconds alan uh tip right uh, but if you put all of these and they're all phillips heads that anyone has a phillips head screwdriver and in their toolbox at home right and then and everyone can do this repair now, some people are not going to Feel like doing this repair, some people will feel that they shouldn't because they paid lots of money for this thing and i think they're entitled to right, but i think a lot of my audience will be up for doing this.
If it's easy, if it's convenient right, uh and they'll, do it just so that they can have a thing working, i don't. It's only took me like 15 minutes to do this. This is a quick repair for the diy crowd. There is a retail crowd.

That might say no, this is not for me. They'll still have to send it. They'll rather put up with two weeks three weeks, maybe a month of not having their brand new unit right, but there are choices you could do this just like. I did here and then you can snap this back in here without breaking it or maybe what blu-ray needs to be doing is uh, offering you know extra these just in case for all those people that might break this cc simple uh, piece of plastic that you Might want to do that.

Might this this might be part of your recall thing right. Some people will will rather do this venture out on their own and do this instead of having to ship the unit back to some place. Even if it's within the united states right - and you know - maybe your international customers might uh also feel be more inclined to do this right. I know this is probably primarily a us-based problem because of you know the i think, there's there's different voltages and all the other countries.

I get that right, but there are some other countries outside of the united states that also use the split face 110 and they might use this plug right here and it might be wired backwards, but there you go for all the people online saying that no. This cannot be fixed because you need to because it's soldered into a pcb board. This is all speculation based on nothing. You should be watching my teardown videos and i i get it.

There was no teardown video on this one yet because i'm too busy uh, i got ta hop on a plane and go away, but i wanted to do this before, because i know that a lot of my audience saw me. You know promote this thing and they bought this thing and now has a problem, and you know i want to help blue eddie. I, like blue eddie as a company. I think they're doing great with these little units uh, you know and i'm doing a bunch of like projects to serve this market right here so right.
So there you go all right. Thank you for watching this video we'll see you guys on the next one.

Red wires in mines were a little short. Just remove the 6 screws and turn the entire plug right side up (which is why they wired wrong in the first place). Much easier.

Yes – youโ€™ll have to flip the mud flap around as well…

Sorry if anyone asked this already but I noticed your video was approved and posted in the Bluetti room , does that mean this fix you are promoting wonโ€™t void any Bluetti warranty?
    Thanks

    DUDE! You rock!
Waiting on Mark Yue to okay customers to be able to do this without invalidating our warranty. Don't want any crap from Support saying we opened it up.

Never mind the design, ASSEMBLE THE DEVICES PROPERLY to begin with! How the hell did that get through quality control? That said, I love my EB70!

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ron Rondondo says:

Where in the hell are the RECALL notices that should have rightfully been sent out by Bluetti. What kind of a company knows they have a major problem, yet, does not notify their customers? I being one of them ! They should be reported to the FCC and FTC. Jehugarcia stop defending a company that will not take responsibility for their products, are you a stockholder in Bluetti? I called what is supposed to be their "service" center and the guy was like a deer in the headlights – had no idea what to say about this problem. Jehugarcia, you are complicit for not calling this company out what's wrong with you bud ?

The LCD fpc looks like a latched connection. If so, you shouldn't tug on the ribbon. Gently raise the black latch and then remove the ribbon. Tugging on it could damage the ribbon and or the FPC

Way easier than sending it back. ! But I would like a discount for doing it myself ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you very much for posting this video. It takes some of the mystery out of what was behind that plug and it's good to know that it is an easy fix. Hopefully those two crossed wires will be the only problems we have with these units. And that they won't show up at all in the 300 series.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve Squaw says:

What? They sent those out wired wrong?. That thing costs so much and it's effed up? I'd freak out

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Richmond says:

LOL this would have been a 3 minute repair if you left out the complaints and the allen key rant. Thanks for look inside and the simple fix Jehu, perhaps Bluetti should consider offering a swap to eliminate the inconvenient wait time.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Frank Wiebenga says:

Thank you for posting this Jehu. Such a simple fix, can't wait for the full teardown! Was there any stickers that would indicate a unit was pulled apart for warranty reason?

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars zforce69 says:

I'm sure this fix isn't for everyone as different people have different skill levels but perhaps Bluetti could reimburse 1 hours labour from an electrical contractor to resolve the issue as well as offering the recall.
