7) What is the best fuse wire? I only use 1/8w resistor legs http://j35.us/ResistorLegs
8) Why not use Supercapacitors?
A. Batteries work better at this time, caps are rare and expensive devices that are very good at doing things not needed for storage systems typically.

Hey Jehu, can you tell us if you are using any battery thermal management? What would be the cheapest and the most practical solution. Greets

Individual fusing is a really good concept in all applications. I would feel safer charging indoors or at work or some place you could be liable for big damages! Also will help during a vehicle crash. We don't want to think of these scenarios but they can happen.

But I fear one or more fuse soldering joints going bad and leaving me stranded. This is probably more likely scenario than a crash. Another potential problem is the fuse component itself could fail open also leaving me stranded. Fuses can physically change after long periods of time under high amp loads. Of course, soldering joints and fuses are themselves subject to physical shocks when used in vehicle applications.

After getting my vehicle towed/pushed back home, I'll have a big task of finding out why the battery voltage has gone bad. It will require opening up the vehicle's battery bay, removing the battery and harnessing, and finally dismantle the batteries themselves before even starting the diagnosis. One of my larger e-bike's has a totally enclosed battery and wiring. The whole bike is 120lbs.

In summary, fusing is another layer of complexity. That layer introduces another failure point to the system — lots of little failure points actually. But how to mitigate potential problems?

Hi Jehu, Point no. 7of this video FAQ. says you use 1/8W resistor legs as fuse, what is the typical current that burns the legs? What will be value if I use 1/4W legs (as the link mentioned)…sorry if this has been asked before..
