What kind of solder do you recommend using for high current applications? Numbers I’m thinking of are between 169-180 amps at 80-100v.

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Xeph0r says:

Where did you buy your clips from?

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars stmounts says:

Are you really only using 3.7V battery packs? It is extremely inefficient to run at such a low voltage because you get far higher current-squared losses. The Tesla's use a 375V battery for very good reasons. Have you spoken to any electrical engineers about the way you are making the battery?

What is the cost of a finished batter pack??

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Electric Vehicles Space says:

What is the width and thickness of the cooper strips that you have used in your modules?
    Is it  0.016" Thick, 1/4" Wide x 12" Long?

I used 18650 for my Goped ESR 750H…..34V and 37.5 amps with total 145 Panasonic cells.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars John Car says:

Do you have a blog with specs on how to assembly these 16850 packs? What type of BMS controller are you going to use to charge these packs and monitor the temps?

great job, but where did you get all of the small chargers and the clips?  thanks

    Love the battery hounds!

Why not remove the orange rubber sheath? They add weight & prevent heat dissipation. How will you vent or cool the batteries?

Loved the update… Batteries are looking good…

Great series.  I like the camera work and overhead time lapses.  You make difficult work look pretty easy.  I've got a '77 Westy and am considering electrifying it in the long run.  We're on our second Prius and now have a Leaf, so I;'m interested in the home-grown BEV success rate.

keep going man! from Italy… 😉
