In this first episode of the new format for the Electric Samba or some other name that we haven't thought about yet, we introduce you to 3 interesting projects or videos that are of interest to our Electric Conversion community. These are some of the projects that have inspired me to keep moving forward with my attempt to create my dream car. Hope you guys find these interesting as well, and share them with others.
If you have a project or video you would like to submit in order to be featured on the show please fill out this form. http://www.electricsamba.com/submit/
Featured Project Number 1 - http://j35.us/electricsamba_w01f01
Chris Carlson of Babe's Automotive is currently converting an awesome 1937 Chevy Coop and calls it "The Electric Rod". He's turning this iconic classic car into electric, by installing an AC76 3-Phase induction motor from HPEVS. He will attempt to power the vehicle with used 18650 laptop batteries, which is really cool, and also will attempt a spring loaded battery box to harness the 18560s. Good luck and hope he keeps us updated on his progress.
Featured Project Number 2 - http://j35.us/electricsamba_w01f02
A two wheel contraption brought to you by ItalJet Moto, which promises to be perfect for people like me. It combines the retro classic look with features of a modern vehicle, and is too small to be considered to be a motorcycle, yet too big to be an e-bike, perfect for someone who isn't fully committed to owning a full size bike. We don't have too many specs but, we hope it makes it to production and that it's affordable enough for all of us to have a ride.
Featured Project Number 3 - http://j35.us/electricsamba_w01f03
This 3rd video shows you just how easy it is to make the Nissan Leaf Batterie packs, oh no wait, it shows you need a whole lot of highly specialized equipment, a clean room full of automated robotic arms. It's actually very impressive and makes for the whole process very visually and interesting to look at.
Hope you enjoy and don't forget to subscribe.

I have a bunch of motorcycles and parts and an old golf cart motor, 48volt I think, I'm thinking of putting together somthing with a cvt on it, to get higher speeds. and better performance, my only issue is batteries, but I'm thinking with high capacity 18650. I can pack enough into it to get some good range. and it's going to look as cool as the bike in your opening picture.
can you built a cheap electric skateboard
I do have a question for my project but hope i can send an email to you
Love the rod and a fiberglass body and guards might be a lighter option.
GREAT NEW FORMAT PRRROOOO!!!!
NIce new intro!! I WANT THAT BIKE IN THE THUMBNAIL BRO!
Do it! <3
Have you ever considered Mounting your batteries on your Samba Underneath your floorboard like the Tesla S? I have a VW Thing, where I just installed new floorboards and been playing with the Idea of mounting some kind of Batterie pack like the Tesla S, I want to avoid Cramming everything in the Frunk or behind the seat and gain as much low center of gravity as possible. What do you think? Also, could you double layer or Sandwich the Tesla Modules on top of each other? I thought about building a case that would become part of the floor itself and just mount the seat brackets to the case itself. I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel but at the same trying to implement my own design. I'm trying to Keep as many cells out of the Frunk as possible.
Fantastic, thanks dude… !!!
Good work 😁. 1 + sub
Looking for help! Looking to converting a recumbent trike into an electric assist
The bike is stupid, the West is so well off some people spend money to make things worse, simply because they think it looks good.
unreal background nice
I'm glad to see your channel is growing and is now growing fast. I'm looking through older videos
As cool as these things are 30+ miles on a bike just isn't enough.
