I noticed some of your concerns when working at a major computer company! The outsourcing of IT etc to India, Philippines etc may have saved money but service level went way down ! Customer sat dropped eventually customer went elsewhere ! Then they brought contractors in to allow them to package out permanent staff !
You really nailed it I had my own business when I was younger I hired friends and family at one point I had a hundred and fifty people working did 1 and 1/2 million dollars that year. The next year I was out of business it was like doing a swan dive off the empire State building I wanted to step in front of a fast-moving bus
