5. Dude, I know just what you're talking about. The company I work for is getting pushed from 30 day to 90 day terms on most of our projects. We build industrial control systems for machine vision inspections for automotive and consumer products. I hear that one of the major breweries is forcing 360 day terms. In many cases we can't afford to buy parts then wait 90 days to be paid. So we have our customer buy the parts directly and drop ship them to us. We are also looking for financing companies that will, basically buy our contract, then they sit on it for 90 days and then get paid directly from the customer. One problem with that is finance companies can't put a value on software, and that about 1/3 of the project. They like to deal with physical objects that they can prove have been delivered. But yeah, everyone is getting squeezed.
