Use a torch to heat up the nuts and the try it again with the long extension bar. Also, Don't shake it, just put the pression until does the "CLACK!!". Trust me here in Canada is pretty common this (winter, rust …)

Always put copper grease on the wheel bolts – normal grease can't cope with heat, but copper grease can. Shops never do that because they're cheap, but I always make it a habit to do it when I change the wheels on my VW Transporter.
Lol. You are lucky you did not bust a bolt in the drum. I use anti seize compound. Just a tiny amount. Never again will I do what you just did. Good job. 🙂

everytime use copper paste on the threads
overthighten the screws or bolts destroy the seats of the screws or bolts and they will loosen at driving.
