Your two video's have neatly illustrated why converting ICE vehicles to electric is a bit of a non starter. Components need to be designed to handle the power of electric motors. Either that or you need to torque limit the electric motor…
Is the adaptor between the motor and the transmission meaty enough?
Make it single speed with stronger differential. Or make it dual motor with custom gearboxes. Then you would get rid off differential which is anyway just losing power.

Sounds a bit like an axle (half-shaft) broke.
You could always wire in a MOSFET. That would protect the switch.
