8) Why not use Supercapacitors?
A. Batteries work better at this time, caps are rare and expensive devices that are very good at doing things not needed for storage systems typically.

#8 for 40a if you want to be up to code. Over 100ft run, voltage drop will effect the circuit. A 50% drop is pretty insane so I'm leaning towards the inverters not being rated for continuous output @ 1000w per leg.

Man ! your description is very useful thank you for sharing

how do you do both legs on 2 different inverters? 240v would be from one inverter to the other, no? can you run 240v loads off it? do those inverters have some kind of special mode?

I wouldn't live next to you, it seems you are feeding some dirty energy to the grid.

This is must have for solar enthusiasts

Worth having a look at emon pi monitoring software open source on git hub also page on Wikipedia with downloads . EV charging solar /mains . also iota watt 14 channel plugin sensor PCB so you can monitor 14 different circuits

I had a similar issue with my sun grid tie inverters. Their input range is like 10.8 to 30 vdc. I was trying to feed them 14 vdc and they just didn't put out their rated output. I then reconfigured my batteries to 24 vdc and they took right off. Some of them even put out more than their rated 500 watts of pure sign wave power (each). Not sure if any of this helps, but I thought it was worth sharing. Joe

I hate American's 240 split ac system, it would be so much easier and cheaper if we had 220-240 run everything! Move inverters closer to batteries! No sense that far away…
