8) Why not use Supercapacitors?
A. Batteries work better at this time, caps are rare and expensive devices that are very good at doing things not needed for storage systems typically.

Great! This is the comparison I was looking for!
Also it would be fun to see DC to DC step down converter compared with MPPT.

I am trying it with a 19-volt 3.5A laptop charger with a PWM solar charging controller but the laptop charger heated terribly and some time battery not charge when I connect load with 0.5 Amp. Can anyone explain why or suggest some modification?

Hello, if there is low voltage from the panel and the battery voltage is high, is it not possible for the current to go in the opposite direction? module or more not damaged in this case?

Should I use today charger pwm controller for my power wall

So what is your suggestion for a single 12v 75W pannel ? A cheap pwm solar charge controller or DC – DC step down buck converter. Pls viewer's reply fast

I don't think J who knows what PWM is

i am making a solar cycle so my solar panel is 12v 50 w and i will place a converter that will change it to 24v 7 amp and recharge the battery . battery is 24v 20 ah and the motor is 24v 250 w. so plz tell me is this is right or i have to change it .

Best system is solar dump to graphene then dump to fly wheel using pulse motor/electromagnet … Flywheel can then dump it's load onto the transmission directly. would require new gear design.. this system can run a vehicle to high speeds with only 100 watts of sun, the flywheel is most expensive part, need about 500lbs fly wheel and super strong bearings. they would need new bearings every 5 years at most.

buck converter are not 100% efficiency , 50%… Plus Lithium batteries do not charge that fast , faster than lead acid but not faster than Graphene Supercapacitors which is what you want to use to catch the sun light and then dump into the Lithium storage. I recommend pure Graphene storage but thats not cheap atm.

PWM charge controller does no conversion. It's just a switch that connects solar to battery and disconnects when voltage reaches a certain level. When near that level it swiches on/off really fast. While on it draws too much current from panels and makes panel voltage sag. DC-DC converter in an MPPT charge controller draws just the right amount of current from panels keeping their voltage higher. This higher input voltage is converted to more output current by buck converter.

Thanks for anyone willing to answer: i have built a small itx pc out of a 9×12 fancy vaultz case. amd, video card, powered by an m4 atx carputer variable voltage input powersupply. i have it wired to run from a 12v 200w power brick. works great. now i want to run it off some tesla 2170 batteries. 8 of em will fit into a 4s 9600ah arrangment, giving me over 120w. the system pulls 100 or less. so what i want to do is connect the 4s pack to the ps of 12 output, using a step up put out the 16.8 to charge the lithium 2170 4s pack also adding a bmi. i want the pc's ps to charge the 4s pack, but then also be able to run off of the 4s pack when powersupply is disconnected from wall. my question is, since 4s pack is gonna be connected and charging from the same ps it will also be feeding, how do i get it to work like a laptop battery, where its connected and charges while ps is plugged in to wall, but doesnt also give its own current to the ps. i dont know enough about bmi's or how to connect this in a way thay would work and is safe. let me know if you get what i mean. i wanna basically give the pc its own portable battery pack that can also be charged when plugged in to wall. ideas?

The reason why the PWM is less watts is it makes the voltage of the solar panels match the battery voltage. A meter before the DC-DC or the PWM would show this.

Your battery BMS may not like 48+ volts from the solar charger when the BMS shuts the power off due to the cells being fully charged.
