I have a 82 vw Jetta that I'd like to ev convert. I'd like to get 200-250 range. What should I do for batteries and setup?

Just catching up on the build.

Takes me back, where friends would visit and tinker in my garage, I would be at another main garage, and at the yard where people where they did a bit of everything but mostly bodywork.

Mainly modifying older classic with more modern technology, from around 1992-2004

Got a highly modified road legal track, mag featured car in 2005.

Had several motorbikes, and sold my motorbikes, my cars for my first business attempt – utilising Natural seawater for a marine hobby and the community in 2016.

Keen to get tinkering again, and excited about the electric era, but also acknowledge falling behind of car, bike, technology scene.

Be good to dive back in, learn and share ones passion.

    Thanks for sharing

I’m going to be starting a boat remodeling project in a few months and was considering used Tesla batteries for powering my trolling motor and electronics. Would you have any insight or videos that might be helpful with this project?

I wonder if you would be interested in designing a simpler product through my company that connects ideas with engineering firms.

Why not just do like racers do and upgrade the gears to dog gears or cryo treated gears and if you don't want the noise of dog straight gears get the standard type of helix gears.

It's cheaper for you if you only use 1 gear. Vs me in my 500hp+awd car… It can break any gear…

Great valuable vids, but if you use a tripod rather than waving your camera all over the place, people like me, who get motion sickness will be able to watch. Right now, that’s impossible without feeling dizzy and nauseous. They don’t cost all that much the tripods and are simple to set up, so if you could please indulge me (and many others like me, we’d watch more of your vids. But keep doing the videos, even if it’s repeating what you’ve already done. We can all learn new things and improve the ev conversion process this way. Many thanks 🙏🏼.

Allowed the element fan to run first turn off the element to allow the element to be cool down this will increase the life of the element this would prevent any burning of wires this could be achieved with a thermostat on the element the cool the element down when you turn off the unit this is very important in electric heating the same procedure is used in gas heat it is very efficient when the element is an reach Optimum temperature the fan come on automatically this prevents High amperage draw also with coldl Air it is very efficient energy management system

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tree Frogs says:

You have heated element blowing heat on another element which the element of one of them will be drawing higher amperage this is the first problem the second problem if your fan have variable speed it will contribute greatly to the heaters heat blowing on heat increase the amperage at low speed these two problem are very critical you could save yourself some energy to prevent wires from overheating temperature being too high 🤔

I want know will you front the challenge of put electric engine and batteries on a bigger vehicle, something as a microbus, for example.
I am planning put 2 traction axes, 2 engines 12 kw each, and about 80 batteries on floor of a motorhome – for this, I think will must to reinvent the whole vehicle, for get put all these batteries on a closed and cooled chamber.
Other great idea is no need a plug for recharge: I want put 15 solar panels 300 w on the roof (5 fixed, more 5 on each of 2 sliders, for extend when parked); so, when the charge level very low, I park on some free area, and enjoy the surroundings – what think you my project ?
